Default 1995 Honda Prelude VTEC Upgrades

What would be some cost effective HP increasing upgrades for a 1995 Honda Prelude VTEC "H22A?" Recommend headers, cold intake, or new exhuast system? Also, can you recommend a muffler that does not produce an extremely loud ricer sound, but rather, a low sound ( know it maybe hard since its a 4 banger). Thanks

Also, if a cold intake, headers, and exhaust system are installed. Is a tunning necessary?

For the intake, any tube with a good filter will be fine. If you want to save money, just get one of those intakes off eBay, toss the filter, and use a K&N.

For the header, I would recommend Greddy.

For the exhaust, I hear good things about Magnaflow.

For just those basic bolt-ons, tuning isn't completely necessary, but it will help you gain a few more whp though.

Magnaflow is a little on the louder side. Grab a 16" resonator and a twin loop muffler off eBay, then have a shop make the piping for you

invader trax just curious if you have first hand experience with the ebay twinloops - and how they compare to SNL? i think there was a guy on here a while back selling snl's - but then I think he went MIA, or ran out of stock or something.

I run a 14" dual tip magnaflow, it's nice and warm, perhaps a tad louder than I would have liked tho.

(sorry for partial jack).

How is the evo2 and sp2? I am looking for something I can bolt on myself. I know those are two pricey choices too. Any recommendations for HP upgrades. Thanks for the replies.

I was the first on HT to try the eBay twin loop. Listen for yourself

Also, they look exactly like the SNL, so they're probably all made in the same place. As far as fitment, mine had to be put on upside down because I was merging it with my previous exhaust. If you start from scratch, you can mount it right side up no problem

well this is not an "HP" upgrade but will most certainly get you down the track faster than any bolt-on for the same price......
