I HAVE A 1994 HONDA ACCORD EX 4 CYL AUTOMATIC AND I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR RPM ON THE DASHBOARD CONSTANTLY JUMPS UP AND DOWN WHILE IN R, D4, OR D3. THE CAR ALSO HESITATES WHILE IN R, D4, OR D3 WHILE UNDER 40 MPH, BUT IT DOESN'T KILLS, BUT ITS CONSTANTLY GETTING WORSE. I DONT HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ANYTHING, I HAD ONE BUT I JUST REPLACE THE DISTRIBUTOR, AND SPARK PLUGS AND IT WENT OFF, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AND I HAD THE VACCUM LINES AND THE GAS LINES CHECK AND THEY WERE GOOD AND NOW I HAVE NO IDEAL WHAT IS WRONG WIT MY CAR I REALLY REALLY HOPE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ME. If I may, I have a 1997 and it is doing some of the same things.
I was coming on here to ask if anyone may know what to look for as to the cause.
Speedometer going up and down, and more and more the car is hesitating
when I am coming off a stop or getting onto the highway. The check engine light
goes on and off, doesn't stay solid.

Any ideas?

 

could be that the egr ports are clogged with carbon. my 95 lx was doing the same thing. it got so bad that it started missfiring

 

I cleaned the EGR ports and took the car for a ride and the killed again and would not start back up and I notice that I had a crack on the Distributor I am waiting on another one and will let u know what happen, but it ran great after i clean the EGR ports out and my rpm gauge still dances like crazy. Do u think the distributor could have cause that to happen.
