Default Web cams???

My friend just put a B18B in his civic hatch. right now the motor has Web cams in it, i'm not sure which ones they are, but he says that when it hits 4K it takes off. He's getting turbo cams soon when he gets his turbo. and he said he'd give me his web cams for free, or really cheap. has any one had any experiences with web cams? pros/cons? should i put them in my '98 GS? thanks.

web cams are close to crower cams. they make power mostly due to their extra duration. that is why the power hit in around 4k. which is what my 403 crower cams do. once the cams comes in sync with the timing and duration the bastard will pull good. but if you take it to a good dyno shop they can make you feel a smooth power through the whole rpm.. you won' get that lil extra kick but instead kick through the whole thing. if you are planning to put them in you should if you can do it cheap (labor) however i would recommend getting some springs and retainers if you don't know how to adjust the valves yourself because you would need to adjust them every couple of months or so. it also depeneds on which set of which cams you got. the weaker profile ones should be ok without valvae adjustments.
