Help!! fuel line problems
I just replaced the starter in my 99 Honda Accord EX (V6 V-tech engine). Now I'm not getting any fuel to the engine. It could be a clogged fuel filter or air in the fuel line.(??) I hate to tow it to the shop for a simple problem. How do I bleed the fuel line and check the fuel filter? Obviously, I'm not a mechanic, but I'm willing to try this! Any response would be appreciated. I'm a female, somewhat mechanically inclined. Also, the car sat for 2 months on empty (fuel tank) before replacing the starter in the Texas weather.
I'd more likely suspect something related to the starter work. Any plugs in the wiring harness that you had to disconnect to get at the starter?
The fuel system should be self-bleeding - it's a recirculating system and you don't need to bleed it.
There's no normal replaceable fuel filter. Only a fine mesh bag at the inlet of the pump (inside the fuel tank).
Maybe a bad main relay?? Check whether the fuel pump runs...
- Key 'ON' but don't continue turning it to 'start'.
- Listen for the pump to run for about 2 seconds then turn off. (it's not very loud.)
- tell us whether this works...

First of all... THANK YOU for answering! The car tries to turn over but there is no fuel getting to the injectors. The starter sounds good after the replacement. Could the fuel pump gone out while it was sitting so long?

If it doesn't run, then next you'll check whether it's getting power from the main relay. Also check to make sure you plugged everything back together after doing the starter. You'd feel kinda silly if you replace the fuel pump & then discovered a plug disconnected near the distributor.
Seems more likely to me that your main relay has gone out. They're known for going bad when the interior gets real hot. Texas weather... ?
Search for 'main relay'. There's probably a thread describing how you can fix some defective solder joints on the circuit board of the main relay.
