i would go to redline in a ls.........as long as it still had the stock rev limit.

Off the line I shifted from 1-2 a little sooner, around 6400 or so. I only had a chance to try this once, but this run I posted my fastest time. Every other time was at 7200, and run to 7400 (holy **** stock valvetrain) in 4th so I would get through the traps without shifting into 5th with my Gsr tranny.

A while back, someone posted that they go to about 6500 1st & 2nd, then redline the rest. I've tried that and it netted me the best times.

Go to redline on all gears, even then you fall out of the B18B's powerband.

hehe just wait till u get tuned, youll have to run to 8k to not shift into 5th.. either that or get taller wheels.
btw, im gonna run my stock head to 7400 too. wanna take bets on who blows up first?

Get your car dynoed and look at the graph. You can asscertain a lot of info from that on when to shift and such. At least thats what I've been told.

beh....people keep saying take it to redline but there is NOOOOO power after even 6700-6800. I've been shifting at 6500 and i've gotten the best times on my Gtech (14.9) in my '92 CX. listen to the engine after ~6700...you can hear it fawking wheezing its ace off!

I say you have to take it to the redline (or fuel cut off) at every gear. There might be no power after 6700 but remember, the fucken LS tranny is so loooong. If your shifting too soon you'll be to low in your RPM after the shift.

I've tried it at the track and my runs were always at fuel cut off. Don't bounce the rev limiter too long tho, as soon as its bouncing shift!!!

SHIFT a tenth of a second before your REV LIMITER, providing there is one

I agree, on a NA LS u will loose power after 6700 but with turbo like me and 93LSivic we make power to 7500.

keep in mind that even if the torque curve falls on its face, gearing multiplies it. which is why I'm not sure why people suggest shift early out of 1st gear. the 2nd gear ratio is about 30%-40% taller then 1st.

I suggesting shifting fast out of first just cause 1st and boost = NO TRACTION. Second isnt much better traction-wise, but it worked for me that one time. Again, I have very, very little seat time with the turbo at the track. Im sure once I go more often I will have this bitch into the mid to low 12's. Well, probably (hopefully) 11's with a new bottom end.
