Default Replacing D16Y8 Short block

Im replacing my blown d16y8 short block and was hoping to do a write up on it for future reference. Im basically just swapping over the block i have all the other parts that were still in great condition head, tranny, vavle springs, etc.

Out of curiousty when buying a short block, is it just simple swap and replace the old one. or do i have to tune this short block or do anything specific to it. do i have to adjust anything. it's a simple switch over from a blown to a non blown one. how much do these swaps cost in a shop...really curious!

thanks guys.

im still learning to be a wrench head. so any extra info will help.

Easy take it out and put it back in, all the parts are the same so no sweat. Don't waste your time with a write up. Probably take you a day unless you got DS.
