machine wash textiles?
i was caught in the rain with my joe rocket nova textile jacket. so now the back end of it is soiled with all kinds of crap. i was going to stick it in the washer after removing the armor but the tag says to hand wash only. whats the worst that could possibly happen?
I think it will loose some of the water repelant qualities if given a hard wash. Also, the washer might upset the strength of the mesh. Better to just soak it in warm water with some soap then hang dry.

I am not disagreeing with, or discounting what you are saying by any means... but isn't it ironic that a piece of gear we rely on to protect us from the road is afraid of the spin cycle.
I always wash my J. Rocket Ballistic with mild soap, and a sponge or rag. The liner can be machine washed, but the shell is probably best done by hand.
