Here's a pic. of my stock ITR clutch as installed by the factory in Japan with 98K miles mostly street, auto-x, track days, and 4 rallies on gravel and snow. Notice the broken plate. Two of the four springs were loose.

Thing is I was procrastinating pulling it, because it felt fine!
So much for a 100K mile durability cycle, eh?

 

What is "step height"? Is this a clutch pedal adjustment?

I think step height is the distance from the "step" (where the flywheel bolts to the pressure plate) to the friction surface of the flywheel....and when the flywheel is resurfaced the step height should be in tolerance for whatever application.

....if that makes sense
