Manual Trans Fluid Fill
Ok so i know the bottom plug is the drain and the top plug is for the fill. But, since we live on planet earth and gravity works against horizontal forces, I was wondering what some of you used to fill the trans.

I had the idea of putting a tube at the end of a funnel and running the tube down to the fill and filling from the funnel. Any other ideas would be great.

thats what I do and it's worked great
I also had a tube that I bought at a parts store that screwed onto the bottle, that worked good but you couldn't clean it good enough and it was always sticky. So now I just buy a $1 section of tube and throw it away when I'm done and wipe the funnel clean.

Not meaning to hijack, but I've been thinking about doing this as well and had a couple of questions.
First, I know that if it hasn't been done for a long time on an auto, its better to just not do it, as you may cause more harm that good. Same with a manual?
Second, how important is it to do this?
Finally, just wanted to get clarification on your picture. The top plug that looks like my oil drain plug is the fill, and the bottom one with the square (looks like 1/2") inset is the drain?
Thanks!

yes, the top (fill) bolt looks like a oil drain plug bolt and bottom (drain) bolt has a 3/8" square drive to stick a 3/8" drive ratchet in it.
Also, if you are not able to get a funnel into that hole, you can also remove the speed sensor if it makes it easier for you and fill it there.
