i just got a 93 civic ex for $500!!!!!!!!!!
the only thing that was wrong was the front end so
i replaced
the entire front end
i bought jdm headlights and corners
inside i have put a type R shift bag and ****(a real typeR shift **** straight out of an integra type R)
it has a d16y6 i want to make it as fast as a b16
they say it comes with 125 hp
so i need about 35hp to be as fast as a b16
so what can i do to my car to get about 165hp?
so far i am going to get an intake and headers, but what headers and intake should i get, and does it really matter in the intake and headers arent DC and AEM?
so help me out
what do you suggest
i want to make this car pretty fast without speending too much

u wnt make 35 horsepower with intake, headers and exhaust or anything.. most people will prob tell u to boost or build motor. maybe build ur head to make 35 or more horsepower?

dont buy headers or intake for your weak sohc motor, they dont respond well to bolt on's at all, you'd be lucky to be .1 sec's shaved off a 1/4mile with intake and headers..........
just swap a b series if u want to put bolt ons for now, and since you seem like you have no real knowledge of car's start learning more, posting less

agreed!
also making your car as fast or faster then a b16
isnt too hard but this is going to be a draw back first of all
"i want to make this car pretty fast without spending too much"
What’s your budget?

Unlikely, but okay.
@ OP:
Boost is ur best option, if you do it right for 2k you can be raping B16's left and right.
By far the most bang for ur buck.
If you do it right you can be pushing ~200whp which since the #'s you're giving is the flywheel rating puts the Ex at about 100whp and the B16 at 135-145hp at the wheels.

OP: Boost is definitely going to be your best option if you are looking for HP increases. Just be aware of some of the smog restrictions in Cali that can put you in a world of hurt. Its very true that you can get a turbo set up for 2k or possibly under depending on how long you search/wait for parts , but for that price its unlikely that it will be CARB legal unless you purchased a used Greddy/Edlebrock turbo setup with a CARB stamp. You can either take your chances with the cops and pay 100-200 every time you need to smog the car (illegally) or you can spend the extra cash and purchase a turbo setup with a CARB approved sticker/stamp. The choice is yours. And since D16z6's are so cheap you could even pick an extra long block up and have it machined/built (mildly). GL on the build and congrats on the pickup

1200 for a turbo set up in ok. but if u add labor, little items and of course tuning. it will pass 2K mark. without tuning ur motor aint gonna last.
