Some naked, others not so naked (MotoGP inside)
excuse this question if the answer is unbelievably obvious but i dont know much about motogp bikes or the technology behind them, so, in the second pic, is it showing some sort of hydrolically assisted or actuated shift linkage or is some system so the rider doesnt have to use the clutch lever when switching gears?

Yes, it's a quick-shifting mechanism that allows the rider to change gears without utilizing the clutch. It senses the movement of the shift pedal and sends a signal to kill the ignition for a brief moment. This would be similar to doing a clutchless upshift by rolling off the throttle and clicking a gear....but faster.

The quick-shift allows for the rider to bang downshifts as well. The reason they would need the clutch in those instances is to modulate the power to the rear wheel.
Same modulation is required when starting from a stop. Otherwise unchecked, the power would loop the rider and bike in a heartbeat.
