well...why did you remove the canister...?
dont block off the vent pipe to the gas tank...
run it pre-turbo if that is the case
or i guess just leave it open
if you are using a catchcan that utilizes vacuum...thats another good place...
the fuel vapors will combine well with the hydrocarbons

if you are still n/a i would put the canister back in and use it...
or connect the vent pipe strait to the intake

Car is being built to compete in SFWD.

Have no use for evap purge, or the means to incorporate it if I wanted to.

I'm tentatively planning on kicking the pipe down a bit and letting it vent before the firewall; sound good?

personally i would say possible fire hazard...
sparks from road...etc...
wait for someone else to chime in

but yes...connecting the vent pipe strait to intake would cause a vac leak condition...

i guess i just never understood the decisive removal of it...even in race cars...
its not like the canister weighs much

OMG are you serious it is not about weight!

Your going to seriously tell me venting gas vapor back into your expensive built engine is ok?

unless you are chipped with good tuning software or standalone...
then you cannot disable the purge valve
there is no serious performance loss from using it
hook it back up...or buy the parts you need to do so for $10...
my .02

your car runs on gas...
whatever that douchenozzle is trying to say that fuel vapor is bad for your car
atomized fuel is about the best thing you could possibly give your car
not that the amounts delivered by the vapor from your tank/canister is going to alter anything that severely...
it will not !!!

All I would do is put a one-way check valve on it so when the tank builds pressure, it will open up, route it to where-ever you like. Make sure your gas cap is good though, air needs to get in the tank so a vacuum does not occur.

Yes I suppose I did, didn’t I?

However the reason asking was because i thought i already cleared all this rubbish up with digitalcongo via PM

it would however seem his insult was aimed at me hence i was sarcastically asking!

thats for eliminating the pcv setup for boosted applications...
which is a must-do for turbo applications
but you 'could' also run the vent pipe to there too...

but see the filter on top...thats for an open.air setup
many people run that way...
but another method is to use vacuum from in front of the turbo inlet
which lowers crankcase pressure...a desired effect...
the problem with vacuum setups is you tend to dirty your turbo with crankcase blowby...etc...
but if you build a nice filtration setup...and maintain vacuum...
...then you are helping your motor more than a open.air setup
