Details about the 2001 Accord stereo system?
After my Passat was totaled last month, I picked up a 2001 Accord with the "6 speaker" stereo and in dash cassette/ CD changer. I was able to remove my Alpine head unit, sub and amps from the Passat, but I don't know much about the stereo configuration in the Accord.
Can someone sketch out the components and their locations? The first thing I'd like to do is drop in my headunit, so I'm assuming I'll just need a wiring harness, dash mount and possibly an antenna adapter. If so, I'll just get something from autotoys or another recommended source.
My main question is whether or not the Accord has an external amplifier, or the amp is build into the headunit? Are there any external crossovers for the speakers?
And what are some popular aftermarket component speakers in the $150-$250 range? I had some Polk MOMOs in the Passat, but alas, they are now gone. For the speakers in the Accord, are there depth issues in the front doors?
Thanks for any info!

The accord audio system is pretty simple: two 6x9s in the rear deck, two 6.25s in the front doors, and two tweeters in the corner of the dash (right where it meets the windshield). There is no external amplifier, just the headunit. The only crossovers present are capacitors right on the tweeters. Everything else is run full range. The antenna cable plugged right into my alpine headunit, so I doubt you will need an adapter for that.
Start by cleaning the wax out of your ears. If that doesn't work, then I don't know.
A little background info would help here. Is everything still stock? Neither one of the tweeters is working or are you having hearing problems and can't hear them?

actually...i have 4 sony speakers installed...used to have a sub until my car got broken into and then i took out all the wires for the sub...could it be that the tweeters are just not very loud? and that my aftermarket speakers are over powering them?
The steps for removing the radio are in here:

This is actually the instructions for putting in a trunk mounted CD changer, start at step 20 for just removing the radio (skip steps 22 and 23).
