Filtermag thoughts and opinions
The filtermag looks to be a well made product. I am concerned that the strong magnet may somehow impact an oil filter's bypass valve (leak-by, fail to open, etc.). I have done a lot of searching on this and found nothing to prove or disprove my suspicions. Do any of you guru types out there have an opinion on this?
Also, I would like to use a magnetic drain bolt on my oil pan. Most of the magnetic bolts I have found (Spoon, JDM, Mf, etc.) are made out of aluminum though and I am concerned about that. Is the Honda OEM drain bolt made out of aluminum?
Thanks,
Mark

Here is the reply from FilterMag:
Hi Mark
Thank you for your inquiry. Once the FilterMag is installed onto the filter, there is no magnetic stray flux. Part of the FilterMag patent is steel plates under the label, this not only gives the FilterMag a bit of flexibility is also completely stops any magnetism from escaping “out the back” once installed on the filter. FilterMag will absolutely not interfere with any of the functionality of the oil filters bypass valve.
I hope this helped to answer you question.
You will need our 250 model for your Honda…. (either the SS250 or the more powerful (taller) RA250)
