Default D15B Dual Vtec

Ok so im going with this swap, d15b dual vtec. I have a 96 dx and i wanna get rid of my d16y7. This one seems to be the one with the most HP in any obo2 engine that i could find. I was just wondering if there is any CONS about this engine. or If anyone has swapped this onto there ride? thanks for all the help

There were only two OBD0 and one OBD1 D15B's which, if i remeber correctly, the OBD1 version was the only one with VTEC. Don't quote me on this, ima "search" though and get my info right, this has been covered.

I avoided the complications of the three-stage VTEC engine when I was shopping for a D15B, but haven't heard anything too bad otherwise. As for a swappable transmission, you already have the best transmission made for the D series if you've gotten the engine with the transmission.

im suprised you know your phones. Dual Vtech, stage-3 vtakj0, all sounds like childs play. why doesnt any of the US models have STAGE-3 Vtak? Because its no different than regular vtakj0. In fact, alot of NA D-series engine builders prefer No Vtaky just kicked in.

and there was One Dohc ZC that was a D-series engine.

Take it easy on the guy, he only misspelled once. At least he brought up a semi-legible diagram of how 3 stage vtec works, right? Anywho, I wouldn't really suggest you go out of your way to find a 3 stage vtec engine. Just look for any SOHC VTEC engine that's not the VTEC-E.

D16y8 is a good and popular OBD2 SOHC engine. I don't have experience with it myself, but you could get some good advice for this one I'm sure. Some extra displacement couldn't hurt either.
