Default overheating problem w/ f4i

aloha everybody. lately, i've been having some problems w/ my f4i because it runs a little too hot. On average, the temp goes up to 240+. About 3 months ago, i had my radiator fluid and a new thermostat put in the bike. Can any one give me a hint on possible problems w/ the bike? Timing maybe?

check the fans and let us know. What mods do you have done to the bike? What/how much oil are you running.

I'm having a similar issue... sometimes the fan comes on late though, so I'm thinking that the fan switch is on the fritz.

heh, and to think you sold the bike with overheating problems and end up having issues on one that is normally pretty good.

Owners manual says you'll get a red light on @ 254. The hottest I've seen is ~245 sitting in traffic for 20+ minutes straight.

Also, there is another product called Water Wetter.

yeah check to see if your fan is coming on.

should kick in b/w 225 to 229 degrees indicated.

if it does not, it's either the fan motor or the fan switch.

check by grounding out the fan switch and seeing if the fan will run. if it does run then it's the switch. if it does not, then it's the fan motor.

Try engine ICE which comes premixed.
My gsxr doesn't go over 225, even with dead on 100 degree weather.
I've tried numerous times as well.
Fan should come on at 220
