Default Are these fuse holders good to use?

Did someone say these types of fuse holders are not as good as others?

I am replacing my 8 gauge wire with 4 gauge wire for my 2 amps( Alpine MRV-T320 and either the JL 500/1 or the APline 500 watt mono amp...i forgot the model nubmer on the alpine mono amp. i havnt gotten the mono amp yet for subs).

I remember reading a fuse thread that, from what I remember, said the AGU in-line fuse holders are not as good as other fuse holders, is that correct?

I am looking on ebay; I saw a few Stinger fuse holders that I am thinking of gettng. The picture below is what im talking about.

That is correct, the fuse itself has a lot of resistance that increases as fuse gets hot, and it's exponential to the point it can get hot enough to melt the solder that connects the fuse filament to the end caps.

Use an ANL fuse. 94

I would leave the 8ga for the Alpine amp, [high-pass] and run the 4ga for the JL Audio 500/1, [low-pass]. 94

The AGU is also harder to change IMO compared to the ANL fuse blocks. With the AGU you have to twist the unit rather then just pry off like the ANL block...just MO
