I'm on my second antenna on my '93 Accord and it's started to fail again. It now only goes down maybe 1/3 of the way and sticks way out, getting in the way of the trunk opening. It also makes a lot of annoying noise every time i turn the car off/on as it tries to grind its way up or down.

I also have always thought my antenna was very weak picking up radio signals compared to my newer hondas.

Are there any antenna solutions besides replacing it? Something that might work even better?

What have you been replacing, the mast or the complete power ant.?
If it is the whole ant. are they used ones? 94

 

i replaced the entire assembly once, but would prefer not to do that again. I would rather get something that picks up signals well, not marginally like the one I have now.

Any aftermarket alternatives?

 

If your having a reception problem maybe it wasn't the ant., it may be a problem with the ant. extension lead running from the ant to the HU.

I have also installed an "intenna"... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...D=WMA on more then a few custom cars and for guys that have shaved their cars.

This is an amplified ant, and works very well. 94
