Weekend Sex on wheels
My brother in law was in town over the weekend. He rides a Ducati ST something or other, and the Duc Pond shop in Winchester was having the Hypermotard introduction deal going on.
So we hopped on the viffer and went to check it out.
Now, I am most certainly not a big Duc fan, but I have to say that they make some nice machines. Emphasize machine.
Good attention to detail, top shelf equipment, nice freaking bikes, for the most part. Too bad they're V-Twins... <Ducking - pun intended>
The shop, Duc Pond, was also pretty cool. The owner is a retired racer, and the whole staff was cool. They took us in the back to check out the shop - where they have a 1098 sitting there for its first tune up. Also various Ducs for sale as race bikes. Anyone want a 750 race ready for $5000?
We sat on the 'tard, feels just like a damn dirt bike, ah, memories. They weren't doing the demo rides that day, so the best we got is to hear it started and pretend we were riding it while watching the video of it they had playing on the TV...
But the real reason I am writing this post, is that I got to see - and hear - some MV Augustas. They had a Brutale, a F4-1000, and a F4-312.
Huh, all I can say is that 'dem bikes there are the absolutely sexiest looking and sounding bikes I have ever seen. Period. They even had a special 3.9% financing deal. My hand was actually shaking next to my wallet wondering how much they would give me in trade for my old 1994 VFR with 42000 miles... I was a good boy though, unfortunately. The only bad thing I can say about the bikes is that they use some fairly cheesy pieces of plastic here and there. Nothing that can't be fixed with a little CF, but at the price they are sellling, I'd expect nothing but the best.
Anyway, if any of you NOVA folks are ever in Winchester, go check the place out - nice folks, some cool bikes - what's not to like.

sorry, I was too busy wiping my drool off of the $15000 bikes to take pictures.

Just got back from test riding the HyperMoto. Pretty sweet bike. nice motor, more comfy than I expected, and turns super quick. It's almost twitchy and you gotta pay attention to keep it straight. I could see myself riding it everyday. Not sure if I can see myself plunking down the coin for one. 15k for the s, hmmm.
