Ive had my aem cai for awhile now and its been bugging me because one side of the filter is completely pressed against the fender liner. I've tried many many times to fix this and somehow center it so it doesn't touch anything, but I've had no luck. Does this happen to anyone else?

While I was struggling with this, I remembered my old RU3130 I use to use for a shortram setup with the stock tube. The RU3130 is thinner and longer. Length isnt a problem. When I compared to the two filters, it was evident that the RU3130 is alot smaller than the AEM filter. Because of this I wasn't so quick to swap em out. What do you guys think? For sure, I can see that with the RU3130 I'll be getting the full 360º of air flow, as opposed to my current 300º or so.

 

thats weird because i have no clearence issues with my aem. fit perfect right in their.

 

did feel all around after u put your splashgaurd/fender liner back on? Im thinking I have a defective one. damn aem, i never have any good luck with them. the first two cai's they sent me were dented.

 

Mine is perfectly fine. Do you have any pics of your install?

 

Mine might be touching the fender lining, on the bottom, right where the vents are. If it isn't touching, it is very close. I'm not too worried about it.

Never had any clearance problem with mine.

 

No clearance problems here either. But I still have that damn whistle...

 

You either need to make that an image URL or a link URL. You're trying to show an image over FTP.
