Tires Issue
I took my eyes off the road and hit a curb. Only going about 20 mph, but it was enough to cut down the sidewall. So I called around to tire shops and dealers in San Diego. Turns out the Dunlop A/S 31 is not really available, and even my Honda dealer said they would have to order one. At $ 144 plus mount, balance, and taxes, disposal fee ! Yuk !
I went to Discount Tire, excellent shop, and they hooked me up with a great match for 90 bucks, Yokohama YK520, looks the same on the car. 60,000 miles warranty.
I have noticed how easy it is to veer off the road in the Fit. You'd better be paying attention, because with the short wheel base and power steering this baby is not going to track real well. I went ahead and got the full replacement coverage on all 4 tires for $ 58.00. Yes, the Dunlops included. Well worth the money !

as for replacement tires, sams club has great deals. a membership costs 40 bucks for a year, but if you buy tires there u save that in one whack. not to mention alll the other cool stuff at sam's in massive quantities.
i read an article in car and driver on an a comparison of all the new compact cars on the market, of course the fit rocks all by large margins, go fit!! it even does a lane change test faster than a corvette z06. not sure how they test that exactly tho.
i use my fit as a locksmith vehicle, loaded down with supplies, driving moderatly hard with a/c on, 33-35 mpg. i love my car!!
oh, and sams club will balance and rotate your tires for FREE every 8000 miles.

In May of 06 I got a nail in the damn sidewall of my Dunlop, car had only 600mi on it. Went to dealer and they could not find any info on the tire anywhere. Finally got one from TireRack for about $80 I think it was.
Just bad luck...

One of the best things i liked about the fit is the Steering, Some of you may or may not know but the FIT uses an electric motor to power the steering instead of usual belt driven pump. The gas pedel also electric (no cable) going to the throttle body (fly by wire)

Honda's putting DBW in mostly everything. I wish my Fit had the turning radius and feeling that my 06 Civic had. You could do a U-turn much easier in that car.
...I still like my Fit though
