GSD3 vs. RE010
I'm looking to wrap my integra's 16x7 rims with new rubber. I am looking for ultimate dry/wet traction in a daily driver with occasional/maybe frequent track days. I live in the bay area so the worst weather I ever see is heavy rain a couple weeks out of the year. Over 20K treadlife is preferred but ~15K is acceptable. This means no Azenis.
I'm very close to buying the GS-D3's in 205/45/16 but I'm concerned that the sidewall may not be stiff enough. While dry/wet grip is exceptional, I have heard of noticeably slow response time for turns in transition as well as tires "squishing" under braking. Is this enough to warrant going with another tire? Does anyone personally have any experience with this tire? More specifically, has anyone used these for track days?
I've never personally tried out the RE010, but i hear nothing but great things from the ITR guys. I would probably be getting the 215/45/16 from tirerack for $169/tire. While cost is not a huge issue, if the transient response of this tire is not worth an extra $33/tire then I will probably go with the GS-D3's. I also don't like how they are sold as left and rights separately, especially with the right tire running low in stock.
Feel free to suggest another tire as well. I've thought about something like Kumho SPT for DD and a stickier tire for track days, but having a spare set of wheels/tires seems pretty silly when all I see is rain once in a while. S03 would be a no brainer if it was still available in my size. I also looked at the T1R but I've been seeing mixed reviews on those as well.
thanks in advance

Don't get the RE010. The 16-inch version in 215/45-16 is designed specifically to be used for the front corners of the NSX (and yes, they are corner-specific, with a left front tire and a right front tire). Some of the design features of the tire, such as the way the belts are biased to work with the NSX alignment and the compound being different from the tires designed for the rear, are not appropriate for use on the ITR.
As for the transient response of the F1 GS-D3, I'm not sure where you heard anything negative about it, but it's really just fine in my experience - excellent, in fact. Have you read the comparison test in Car and Driver?
I could name a bunch of other tires to consider, but they fall into two groups - tires that are cheaper, but not as good as, the F1 GS-D3, or tires that, like the Azenis, wear too fast for what you're looking for. The F1 GS-D3 is really a great tire - excellent on dry pavement, excellent in rain, lasts a long time, and isn't as expensive as some other top-of-the-line tires.
Bottom line: Get the F1 GS-D3.
P.S. The $50 cash card rebate expires July 21.
