16" rubbing??
So i recently bought c8's (yes rotas, get over it) and I'm dropped on koni/gc. There's about a finger and half gap, but I noticed today taking some entrances to business, it would rub, just a bit. In fact leaving work today it rubbed like mad when I went down this little ramp and over a 2 inch drop to the road.
Just curious if anybody from the NE (since our roads suck)has the same issues, I don't think I'm that low, compared to others. Especially the SLAMMED thread....... don't know how you do it.

That's because that gap isn't enough -- Wait, do you mean from the tire to the inside of wheel well or the fender -- ?
You pretty much gotta accept the damage your car gets from being slammed. I was "slammed" and I always scraped over speedbumps, pot-holes, dips in the road, etc... It was a bitch so I finally raised it 1/2" and it's all good!

yea iknow what you mean... you gotta remember the fact that your car is sitting on springs which mean it will go up and down...
im on 16 inch techlogex with 205 45 zr 16's and my tire is about 1.5 inches from the fender in my ek.... the problem is tat ull hit something that gives you that sudden upward momentum the spring gives or your turning jsut a tad (which will close the gap b/t tire and wheel well) and poof instant scrubbage... but as long as it a slow speed and its not a hard scrub its not gonna cause any noticable damage jsut over time stuff... suggest just raise it up a .5 inch see if it cures ur problem...
also what kind of springs/struts... if u got something a lil stiffer could cure you right up also

^^ Holy "I don't know what you just said" Batman.
That has nothing to do with it, until we have exact ride drop, tire size, and information about whether or not he had an alignment, can we further deduce his problem.

yep, lets start from here.
if you have all of the above^^ you'll have to roll your fenders. Either ghetto rig it or rent a fender roller.

I rub at times even with my stock 15'' tires. I have my car lowered to about 1 finger in the front and 1 1/2 fingers in the back. I will rub on turns because the car then shifts its center of gravity and compresses the shock to the point of rubbing. I do have adjustable dampening, so I set the shocks stiffer and that fixed the problem. I would raise the car up slightly and that should fix your problem, if you have adjustable dampening, try setting the shocks stiffer. This will not allow as much give in the shock when you turn or hit a bump.
Let see, the tires are 205/45. I raised it up a 1/2 inch and it's not rubbing all the time, not even when I hit bumps, just when I take a steep incline/decline that has a bank to it. In other words, when all the weight shifts to the front right or left, you can hear rubbing, just a bit but enough to be annoying. Yes I got an alignment. I'll try to get some pics today or tomorrow. Thanks.
PS, Gabe's Ej8 on Group N's is a bit lower, just for reference till I get pics.

I know what you mean. My car sits lower on the left front, so it is prone to rubbing there. When I was driving thru the mountains last week it would rub on the hairpins. I am going to try and level out the car and see if that helps. good luck
