Q on Clifford alarms?

Q on Clifford alarms?
I want to purchase an alram for my 99 civic coupe. I dont not need a remote starter but only the Clifford Matrix 50.5x come with the SST transceiver that is supposed to have a one mile range. How much better is that technology then just the regular 2-way pager w/o SST(i.e.Matrix 12.5)?
