Default Rear Bumper Fitment Question

Another quick one here, got a 99 Civic EX Coupe and I have to replace the rear bumper cover due to being rear-ended. Do I have to purchase a 99-00 coupe rear bumper or will a bumper from 96-98 also work? I don't think it does due to fitment issues but I wanted to check because the marketplace doesn't seem to have too many 99-00 rear bumper covers. Thanks in advance.

Rear bumpers that will fit a '99-'00 Civic coupe:
- '96-'98 coupe
- '98-'98 sedan
- '99-'00 coupe
- '99-'00 sedan

bingo, however, just get a 99-00 rear bumper so everything looks "normal".

If he gets a rear lip, no one would be the wiser. Most people don't notice that slight lip at the bottom of the rear bumper for the '99-'00s anyway.

Welcome to my hell. I can't find one either. I could go get a brand new one and paint it for $400 total but expletive that.

I've held a '98 bumper up to my civic and the difference is obvious.. the 96-98 bumper isn't as tall and will look very funny on your car esp. if you have the stock ground effects package.

It definetely is shorter than the front bumper cover too.
I'd say get a new one ( i can find one here in san luis, ca for $138 ) and have some backyard bodyguy paint it for ya.

i think i'd def notice the difference from the two. I was look for small things like that so that could be just me haha. Buying a used bumper would be the best bet, used OEM that is. if your going to buy a new oem bumper and get it painted i'd rather spend that $400+ on something else...
