Del Sol electrical problems... HELP!!!
Hey ya'll, im new on here, and really hoping you guys can help me out...
I recently bought a milano red UK VTi del sol, really chuffed with it and have already been adding some tastey parts to the B16A2 motor...
One of the other 1st things i done, was throwing out the crappy cd player, the original owner fitted and replacing it with nice new ALPINE job.
To my horror, when i removed the CD player to find a birds nest of twisty-wires and electrical tape holding everything together
I spent a few hours soldering and heat-shrink covering all the joins properly so that there wouldnt be any problems.
When i done this it was sunny and i had the TRANS-TOP roof down and in the boot.
I plugged it all back in, the new stereo in, and it was all working lovely, started her up and went for a nice drive in my new car with my new tunes.
Got home, went to put the roof down, and NOTHING!!!
Not only that but the dash clock, and drivers window 'auto function' doesnt work...
Initial thoughts, remove the stereo, and then check for blown fuses...
Checked all the fuses in the box under the dash, NOTHING was blown
So i got out my manual, -- checked the 30A fuse under the bonnet, thats fine aswell...!
I cant find a single fuse, anywhere on the car that has blown!!!
Also, if i listen carefully i can still here what i assume is a relay on the motor in the boot clicking, when i press the button for the roof, so i assume its still getting power...!?
I had to manually wind the roof down with the handy, but crappy little device HONDA supply in the rear storage compartment. BUT still i havent resolved the problem.
I guessing (HOPING!) that its just a relay or something somewhere thats blown due to a power surge or something, but im not a electrician im afraid, and as i tend to be quite hands on, im reluctant to take it to a specific car electrician who'll probably charge me a great deal of money for something that may be a 2min fix.
Sooo anyone out there who might be able to help please do.
Many thanks
