? For NA Guys... Do you use tubes or screws...
with your slicks? I've been doing some research and I see them mentioned quite often. Will my slicks fly off the rim without em? Or do I have nothing to worry about?

the purpose of the screws in the rim is a good idea and it works, but some racers choose to sacrifice the tire spin within the rim so it doesnt put too much stress on the axles.
You do hook up better without the tirespinning on the rim but you increase the possibility of breaking axles.
so its a give and take for some people.

i wouldnt be so worried about axles these days anymore... people arent breaking them anymore... the new problem to overcome now is trannies
axles are still a problem.
I have a friend in a PRO class integra using the Top of the line DRiveshaft shop axles. broke 2 of them. they are beefier, but theyre not totally indestructable.

Hey Art, we break out mainshafts before anything in our car. You see it all the time though, the ring gear just pops. To be honest, the nitro axles are pretty sick. You can get them with a new ring gear and spool. The car thats crazy on trans. is Venom. At the Arizona race, they snaped at trany case in half. No cure for that.

I don't use tubes or screws with my slicks...niether do anyone I know. I use 24.5x8x13 MT. MT says that you need tubes, but I ask everyone and they tell me that it's not needed
