I dont know where i heard all these but I have, and i remmeber one was on one of Chip Foose's cars. Im lookin to paint my car black, and i want just a nice solid black. I dont want any blue/red/green/etc. in it, no pearl, not sure about metalic, probably not. Just a nice deep black look, i know most of that is achieved through wet sanding and polishing, but gotta start somewhere. I also heard that black that has a bit of brown in it creates a "deep" look? Thanks a lot for any info.
Volkswagen Uni-Black is pretty deep and a relatively inexpensive color code to mix. The code is LO41.

There's a BMW M3 jet black that I've heard of, it doesn't have any other colors/metallics/pearls added to it and is the purest black you can get.

I saw a Standox pure black today, and i must say in the sun it was kinda ugly....it wasnt really shinny looking and kinda brownish....i saw a black accord and even that looked crazy good, but it had blue in it. Ofcorse the clear u use also matters.

same here. On the same boat in process of repainting my hatch.
When I look at black Mercedes, the high end cars Lexus, Porsche it just seems to me that their paint jobs are kick *** and other black cars are about as good as a Ford Mustang's.
you would have to ask the painter is my assumption for the bentley black. the closest to it would be the Mercedes Obsidian Black Metallic
, is the closest I can find to a Deep Gloss Black.
But i can tell you that when its painted black. when its being wet sanded thats where it will make or break to get that sheen in its gleam.
ill keep myself posted to this thread

any other colors anyone recommend? ferrari black looks nice, i dont mind a bit of metallic, just as long as its not a crazy color flake that makes the black look blue/red/orange/etc.
