Default sport back windows wind noise

5000 K and I love the fit.... but.. try driving 120 km/hr , front windows up , back windows down. ....please tell me i'm not crazy. The shock(?) wave almost busted my ear drums. Is it just my car, or anyone else's ? Did I see a recall(?) saying there is some stuff they put on somewhere around the windshield that will stop the horrific wind buffering noise ???Could this be the reason some report low MPG? Because of the body kit? Surely they put the sport fit with body molding in a wind tunnel before selling. Or test drive it anyhoo. What is up honda? Come on EL ..what do you say?

eL says:

My Accord sedan always made horrible wind noise when the front windows were up and the back windows were down at highway speeds.

He also says:

My Fit does the same thing. I only noticed this because for a few seconds I forgot to raise the rear windows. Why would you drive around like this?

Also, what would the "body kit" have to do with your windows?

try opening the front windows?

i thought this was the case with most cars.. if you have the rear windows open but not the front.. it will create the "shockwave" you are talking about..

and i doubt it has anything to do with the sport lip kit..

Virtually every 4dr car I have ever been in does this. No recalls, no impact on mpg (except driving with windows down is worse than up).

Perfectly 100% normal.

True, my other 4 door does the same thing, just crack one of the front windows and the noise goes away. It has nothing too do with the bodykit! lol! The kit is just for looks I really doubt it was wind tested! Your gas milage will be better with your windows up...

"why would you drive around like this ?" well....maybe I don't want my paperwork in the front seat flying out the window , or I don't want my hair messed , or driver wants the front up but the kid wants the back ones down. Many reasons.Didn't know that driving in that config was a no no.I should be able to drive with any widow config and not go deaf... "what would body kit have to do with the windows ?".Windows are fine. It's the pressure and noise created when back wins down and front are up. What causes the noise? It's the way air flows around the car. The body kit alters the flow of air around the car, eh.

Since every 4 door car does the same thing, it has nothing to do with your body kit.

I went out and opened my back windows on the highway to see what you guys are talking about and I heard the noise. I occasionally get that noise when only my front drivers window is open on the freeway too. Never thought much about it....just the flow of air.
