Default Internally balanced or Externally balanced?????

I was wondering which one the honda motors are because i am doing a h22 swap and i want to do the 5 pound flywheel, all underived pulleys...... wouldn't that throw off the balance of the internals??? Unless the motor is externally balanced.

It's internally balanced. Adding a balanced crank pulley and/or balanced flywheel is not a problem.

BTW, I've never seen a 5 lb flywheel for the H22.

Yeah, as long as the parts you add are balanced it won't mess anything up.

5lbs sounds way too light to be safe....unless it's titanium or something

JUN does make one, but it's not 5 lbs.

The Jun lightweight flywheel is 5.5 kg and the ultra light is 5.2 kg, stock is 8.4 kg. Those specs are off an h22a on Jun's site.

Just four your information 5.2 kg eguals 11.464 lbs and 5.5 kg equals 12.125 lbs.

Also i have known that the h22 engine is internally balanced however if thats the case why do people tell you to balance the bottom end together with flywheel,pp and crank pulley ? Because they technically if the crank, pistons and rods are balanced correctly you could balance the flywheel and crank pulley seperately ?

The way the bottom end has been balanced on the engines I've done is to first balance the crank. Then install the flywheel and balance the flywheel, then install the pressure plate, and balance the pressure plate. Repeat with the crank pulley (without the flywheel or pressure plate). Then as a final check, you can install the flywheel and pressure plate with the crank pulley and double check the balance.

Most machine shops I've dealt with do not have mandrels small enough to fit Honda flywheels and crank pulleys.

You can't balance the pressure plate without a flywheel, as there's no way to hold it.
