Where is the Gear Position Switch? - 92 Honda Accord
I'm having transmission issues with my Honda (Car only goes into 2nd and 4th gear) - Auto Trans.
I found that it's likely that the gear position switch is faulty. I don't know where this switch is located. Does anyone have a diagram or can simply tell me where it is? I haven't been able to locate it's part # either - checked various parts websites.
Any help is appreciated.

Here is a picture of the switch:

It is # 4 in this next picture, Honda Part No. 35700-SM4-A92 SWITCH ASSY., AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE GEAR POSITION :

But, you may want to make sure it is not something else causing your problem, like the Transmission Control Module (TCM), which a common problem on your generation Accord, or the Solenoids A and B. Did you check if there was a code?
If there is a code, post the code first on this forum before you replace the gear position switch. Here is another link, select transmission:

Thanks a lot for the detailed response. I'm not able to retrieve a fault code because my D4 light went out about 3 years ago. This being the case I can't check what type of blinking is occuring.
Is there another way to retrieve fault codes?
I also thought it might just be the TCU so I'm currently checking on pricing to see if I can pick that up as well. I'm not familiar with Selanoids - can you provide more information on what they are and what function they serve?

Other than replacing the bulb, I don't believe there is another way to retrieve the code.
The last link I posted above, tells about the TCM, solenoids, and other transmission related problems. On the TCM, if you pulled it out and opened it up, you might see burnt or blown resistors and capacitors, which would point to the TCM as the main problem.

Mr. Tech8, or anyone else willing to help.
I'm not able to access the http://techauto.bravehost.com/ website from work because that address resolves to http://religion.p5.org.uk/techauto/index.html. This site is blocked because it has the word religion in it.
Is there a different location that houses all the data stored on the techauto website, under the Transmission topic? Or would someone be willing to Save that page on ther PCs locally and e-mail it to me? I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
