the mechanic said it was a speed sensor, came off the trans. can anyone confirm what this is please!?

i don't even know where to look for one of these at. do u think auto zone or somewhere like that would be able to get one

why? you don't trust your mechanic?
Ask yourself??
If he can't tell you what it is 100% for sure, than should he be working on your car?
ALso, if you don't trust him 100% than why would you let him do work on your car?

but im not shure about it because i tryed searching for speed sensor all over the web and on honda diagrams and couldn't find anything that looked like what i have...

vehicle speed sensor w/ power steering. If it broke you're probably going to have to go exploring in the tranny to get the other piece out before you get a new one. Go to the junkyard and get one.

 

the piece that broke off is the mounting bracket for the vss that should not be in the diff case being that most of the time those are broken when the vss is not fully seating when the bolt is cranked down. junkyards are the best place to find one but you can get them through honda for something around $300 thats what they quoted me here.

i have a speed sensor forsale, for a 4th gen correct? lmk if you are interested. i have one for 4thgen as well as 5th gen.

 

you can try welding it back together, thats what i did and it worked just fine.
