Default Exhaust question

Hi there! I recently put my car on a lift in my auto shop hs, and my friend spotted that I had 3 resonator on my 96 Accord EX. So my question is...

Can I go to a muffler shop and tell them to replace my resonator with just a pipe? Anyone know how much that would cost me?
or
Should I just get a cat back? Because the pipe is just too small...

I still want to be silent, I don't want some loud or higher than stock level. I'm happy with it right now. Well maybe a little louder.

i dont think so its reall just completetly empty iirc just to give the exhaust pulses a chance to even out before they get to the muffler

Yes there are plenty of great options out there for a nice looking, quiet, legal cat-back system. For example i have an A'pexi-World Sport 2 and it sounds great. Quiet when at cruising speeds and a little bit louder at WOT. Nice deep tone that doesnt sound like those fart cans you see and hear all over the place. And you can usually find this system for under $500 shipped
