Default Oil in distributor

94 del sol sohc vtec

Car wouldn't start today; it started just fine yesterday and everyday before that long as i can remember. I took off the distributor cap and there was oil in it. I assume this is the reason it's not starting. Can i clean the oil off of everything and it'll work? Or should i just buy a new distributor?

i gotta say i didnt realize how porky that thing is until i had to push it in neutral.

clean it up and give it a try. if it doesn't work you can always go and get a new one.

it kinda sounds like you'll need a distributor one way or the other in the near future.

You might need a new one like he said, or if you have one laying around pull it apart and use the oil seal from it in your current distributor.
