Default Password JDM CF Intake Just Installed

I got the intake today and my friend put it on just now. Looks good, and feels like it added power too, even with it being so hot out. I can't believe how loud and hard the VTEC crossover is now. WAY louder than even my first S2000 was!!!

its a mind game they actually make no horsepower on the dyno all they are doing is pulling in hot air and the loud vtec u hear is it echoing from 8 inches to the 62mm throttle body best best for horsepower gains in the aem itr 3 inch cold air

^ First statement was correct.

Second statement, not so true. AEM 3" CAI was in the lower rung of the ladder as far as gains for the nice intakes go. So far, the best I've seen is a 3" pipe with a BPI velocity stack and K&N filter, or a Mugen intake.

I've had a J's racing and recently switched to Injen and i love it. I'm not sure where that came up in the poll with the AEM but I would imagine it is close.

I'm about to swtich again as GO-FIGHT-KILL said to either the Mugen or BPI stack

Oh, I love my AEM "Straw" on my Type-R... Sounds NASTY, it may not add the most power as some of the other intakes, but I don't mind. But for someone who drives their caR daily, an SRI would be better. I do drive my R in the rain sometime, but never in a hurricane or anything, haha.

I am just stating what I feel, based also on what I have read. There can't be no power gain from it. I have seen dyno charts of the intake on B16 engines and B18C1 engines and it always nets them power.

I've got a J's and its a tight fit. I'm not sure if mine hits the strut bar, but I know its tight against the plug wires and part of the wiring harness.

We need to have a mini ITR meet in the 757, there's plenty of us around.

I didn't buy my J's for performance, since I doubt it will even put down 1hp more than what my stock arm with a filter did. I bought it for looks, its the ricer in me.

I posted it in another thread but, Ill put the results here for you guys.
the setup is a '00 JDM ITR wit a 1 piece head gasket, ARP headstuds, Buddy Club spec 4's,CTR N-1 Pulley, Portflow springs and retainers. The tranny is '00 Spoon ITR tranny with a 4.9 ATS final. Excedy thin sprung 6 puck and chromoly flywheel.
All tuned with a Hondata stage 2

The red line is the J's and the green line is the AEM

I coulda easily made more (2-3hp) too if I woulda added fuel above 8200 -8900rpm. The wide band showed it was way too lean. Shaun offered to tune it to the AEM but since I dont own one I left it tuned to the J's It also had the same result on my friends ITR, exactly 12 HP gain vs his ITR airbox and spoon filter. Believe me I was very disapointed, I just recieved the intake the day before from Mike at IPS and it cost me my left nut. Shaun Church said he gets the exact same result from evey J's style intake he dynos compared to the AEM. Granted the J's looks 10x better than the AEM but the graph tells a different story. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Huge thread regarding it here:

Everything fits great on mine. It's a bit of a tight fit under the strut tower bar, but it does not apper to be rubbing. Just kinda touching it lightly.

I'll be ditching my J's in the near future in favor of the 3in aem. I may have a little ricer in me, but I'm more concerned about power.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by GO-FIGHT-KILL &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Sooooooo... If you are concerned about power, go with the Mugen.

I should of mentioned price is also a factor. I'd rather drop $230 on the aem cai over spending god knows how much on the Mugen.

Then do the same setup neo did... King Motorsports Samco Type-R intake tube, with a BPI velocity stack, and K&N filter.

When it comes to the aRR, price should never be a factor.
