Default My GS-R Before Modifications Start!! Look!

Hey everyone. Just posting some pictures of my GS-R before I start doing a bunch of stuff to it. I got it for 7200$... and it's a 2000 GS-R. Bone stock except the taillights right now and some new spark plug wires. I'll get more pics of the engine bay and stuff for the before and after. I'm gonna build the hell outta it. Here's some exterior and interior pics though, enjoy!

Edit: I was gonna post some more, but a few of them have my license plate in them and for security reasons because of the area I live around, I don't what that floating around HA! I'll get a lot more soon but there's a few. I'm in love with the friggin' thing.

And I love the optional OEM sides. My brother's jealous, he wants 'em for his ITR.

EDIT:

A few opinion questions for you guys though:

1. Stick with the blades or throw some 16's or 17's on it?

2. Pull the pin-stripe off? (I want to) If so, what's the best process to avoid the paint underneath being way darker than the rest? And for taking off the adhesive left by the pinstripe?

3. Good place to order a power antenna?

4. Stick with the stock spoiler or throw an IT-R one on it?

Thanks for your input y'all!

oooh she is sex!

I would keep the pin stripes on her, i think they're cool. I like the blades, you ride just needs to be lowered a tad bit, not dumped. ITR wing, or wingless would really sit her right.

But nevertheless, I love your ride

I'm not a big fan of wingless so I'd probably go ITR. And I'm droppin' her about 2".

I'm pretty pumped to get it all going.

i say stick with the oem look, keep the wing and the blades, lower it and try to get a hold of some oem tails. Since you mention thieves, the exterior mods might draw an unwanted eye. Get a good quality alarm and lojack if you can afford both, always a good investment. Get a tune up and alignment, 2 way insurance and such. Other than that, the car is mint. Good find and good luck with your build!

Yeah I found some all-red OEM tails off a 98 GSR on eBay that I'm going to buy.

I need to get a 2-way alarm... I know which one I'm buying. LoJack is first in line out of everything though because I have a feeling if ANYTHING saves it, it'll be that.

looks good, imo i would pull off the pinstrips, there really souldnt be any damage under them you can get the adhesive off with soap and water or if that wont work bug and tar remover.

also take off those rubber strips in the fenders, they hold in water and moisture that cause rust.

Yeah those are tough to rip off. I'm worried about if the paint's already all f'ed up under there. The pinstripe is probably coming off though, I don't like it.

the rubber things lining the rear wheel wells shouldn't be hard to take off at all their just pushed over the edges there, if its a 2000 the paint should be fine under there, i took mine off my '96 GsR and they were easy to get off, and cant tell that their not their anymore unless you've got ur head up in the wheel well. 2way alarm is a must. and i agree with dc2415 i would strongly advise against exterior mods. one because i think they look awful, integras are beautiful on their own, and two becuase they are big flashing signs saying "hey ive got a bunch of money dumped into me steal me!!" for thieves. but i think lowering it is a great idea tegs look sik lowered and thats a nice lip kit. great investment, looking forward to your build thread.

Something to keep in mind since the car is dark in color. When you pull off the pinstripe the paint underneath will be a bit darker. You may have to have a professional do some work to get the body color and pinstripe area to match. Then again you might get lucky and have no issues. Good luck.
As for the rims, there are many good 195/55 and 205/50 tires for the 15"'s. Keep it low key to keep the theives away. If you do change, 16"'s.

Stick with the stock spoiler. Personally i think itr wings look like a handle so the giant kid can pick up his hot wheels car (I keep waiting for that hand to come down everytime i see one). plus fwd doesn't really need a spoiler at least not one like that.

But anyways. get the pinstripe off and maybe shave the side molding if you want a cleaner look. add some Vision "spoon style" mirrors, and im guessing that sense you said the tails arn't stock that they are probably altezzas, in which case they need to be replaced with oem tails and burnt into a fine ash .

Just my opinion.

Looks to be in good shape and looks awesome as well. If you decide to get rid of the stock gs-r wheels, i will take them off of your hands. Let me know? Good luck with the build!

Stick with the blades, first off. It's a real nice car and if you're worried about your license plates on here, seems like more exterior mods aren't for you. Stay with your OEM look.

I think, not sure, but think your pinstripe might be painted on. On my old Integra, a 98 GS, my pinstripe had been painted on. I got out the hairdryer and everything, go sit out by my car ,and start working and finally realize "oh ****.." So maybe get a paint shop to buff it out or something.

There was just a thread, I think in A/C, about a guy that ordered a S2K antenna, except it wasn't made by Honda and the fitment was beautiful. It didn't stick out to the side and stood straight up. Since your car is black in the first place, it might be something to look into.

I know it wasn't an option, but go wingless. But between GSR and ITR wing, ITR takes the cake.

Also, while you're at it, replace your front turn signal lights with amber ones. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the clear on 98+.

Overall, great great buy. Especially with the OEM optional kit.

put the stock lights on, get a ITR lip painted, get amber signals, slam your car on the blades, and stay wingless.
