i dont see how a short shifter can mess up your transmission if you know how to shift right.

Rabbit,

Stock shifter works just fine. Just get some Energy Suspension bushings and you're set.

Now, GTFO.

Dude, install a stock del sol shifter. It has a shorter throw and I different bend to it. I have one and love it. OEM short throw FTW.

Maybe in most cases, but here I say stay stock. We all know he is gonna go out "bangin gears" dragin y0. and THEN a thread about syncromesh will be created. and THEN a thread about ticking noises... and so on.

I had to train myself to slow down my shifting hand to avoid crunching gears with the stock shifter, so I don't see the point of shortening the throw.

Some aftermarket shifters, like the C's, reposition the shift ****, which may be useful for some on the track, but it looks like it would be kind of a PITA on a street-driven car.

unlike a lot of cars, the shifter was made that long with a throw like that on purpose!

I think the ITR shifter is perfect. I'm not into racing or anything so it would be too insignificant for it to matter.

Back to the Shifter issue, I installed an aluminum dual bend shorty in my R years ago & wouldn't trade it for anything. I've never had tranny probs w/ it but then I don't try to see how fast I can slam shift from gear to gear.

PS. If you get one just make sure to throw in a set of poly bushings.

Short shifters suck. Just get a FLP its the bomb. Short shifters just look cool and eat up trannys.

If your damaging trannys with a short shifter then your not shifting correctly or way too quick.(that can be with any shifter) My R has 73K miles and has numerous passes down the 1320 with a short shifter @ least for 65K of those miles and still no tranny problems.
I've seen more people rip trannys to pieces on stock shifters no matter if the car was stock or not just cause they always drive the car like they stole it.

SHORT SHIFTERS DON'T DAMAGE TRANNYS,......PEOPLE DO!
