Apexi VAFC II - Questions for Owners
Can you really lower the VTEC engagement to whatever RPM you'd like? So lets say you have a Greddy Turbo installed, can you lower the engagement so that spool up is faster and the VTEC window is greater? What are the disadvantages you've experienced lowering the VTEC engagement? I am thinking about buying one in the future but want to hear first-hand opinions on the unit. Thanks.
yes u can lower the vtec engage and disengage, but i wouldnt recommend it, i tried it and it was horrible i actually raised mine to 5700 rpms but every one has there own opinions on how they set up prefrences. but over all its an awesome unit, but its more compatable with a k series motor.but yeah awesome unit, works fine with my b16a and ecu.
if you have a greedy turbo hopefully you have some type of engine management with that hopefully you have tunning and when you have proper tuning the vtec should be set to the "perfect" point for your setup, becase every setup is different and you dont know where it should be untill you get on a dyno.
But yes a vafc will adjust vtec, so will a msd rpm activated switch.
