where is the IACV on 97 prelude?
well my brother just bought a prelude and its ideling funny until it warms up. We asked the previous owner as we just bought it a few days agao and he said he had to clean the IACV when it happend to him. just woundering where it is? I want to say its the black thing with the grey plug connected to it on top of the throttle body? or no?

no. its the part connected on manifold right below throttle linkage. It has a two port quick connector plugging into it, as well as two coolant lines at bottom of it (one on either side) Its held on by 3 x 12mm bolts. If you remove the bottom lines some coolant might come out (if cars warm) (to identify IACV the long center bolt that sticks out right under the throttle linkage is where IACV is (on your pic)

No, it's to the right of that...with the coolant hoses coming off of it. Try using the search button.

yeah your right, I'm sorry. You refered to it as the "throttle body" I thought, so I used the same word so you would understand the part I was talking about. Its called the Intake manifold, so I'll stick to using the proper names of things so I don't confuse you.
Oh, how about a vacuum leak? that causes wierd idling issues only during "warm up" phase. If you've modded it at all check your CAI/SRI straps, check your throttle body to see if its bolts are tightend to your intake manifold. Then, maybe check Intake Manifold gasket/bolts. I had a loose bolt and my intake manifold would make a screaming noise occasionally, from air vibrating with the gasket.
I'd start with vacuum leaks b4 your IACV/EACV. Your motor looks pretty clean/new to have a super clogged IACV.

ill look for vacuum leaks. the engine was bored out by the previous owner by a trustworthy shop. so it was completely rebuilt so i guess their is a good possibility of a vacuum leak.
thanks for the help. ill let you know what i find out.
