D15B7 vs D16Y7
Well there's going to be a little bit of torque difference.
the b7 head has better intake and exhaust manifolds, but smaller ports and valves. They y7 in turn has larger ports and valves, but terrible manifolds. Also like all the D16y motors, the y7's have crappy oil pumps.
In actual driving there isn't going to be much of a difference. Why do you ask?

Hellz yeah, I've seen too many D16Y's crack under boost, more than Z6's anyways.
The only difference in my book is the Y7 is designed to have "high" AND "mid-ranged" power (split) where the B7 just makes more power at higher RPM in a more linear fashion.
Some say the Y7 would have more "usable" power.

Thing is, I used to have a B7 years ago before it died, and now have a Y7. Was I supposed to feel any difference between the 2? I mean.. NOTHING was changed except the bare engines themselves.. All manifolds and sensors and everythinggg was kept from the B7.. even the ECU.. I was thinking of boosting this Y7 with 7PSI till it died, then I'd rebuild with new rods and pistons...... And just reading what I read scares me
