1992 Accord Problem.
So, I have a 1992 accord, It's a 2.2L(Automatic, 4cyl). It has 211,000 miles on it. Here is what happened, I was driving on the expressway, doing about 55 MPH, and all of the sudden my car totally died. I pulled over. To make a long story short, I took out the spark plug, and pulled out the #1 psiton(through the Valve Cover) and it was messed up, I've never seen a piston look like that before, It was grinded down. The weird part is, there were 3-4 quarts of oil in my car. Then, I took off the valve cover, and all the valves are in good shape. I kept looking and found that there is a hole in the #1 piston all the other pistons are in good shape. So, my question is, Do I have to buy a new engine? or can this be fixed cheaper than buying a new engine? Thanks for the help.
Ok, you CAN NOT pull a PISTON out through the valve cover. You can not pull ANYTHING out through the vale cover other then the spark plugs.
You can not take the PISTON out using the spaark plug, the spark plug does NOT screw into the piton.
You can NOT take a piston out without removing the oil pan and everything else under there and disconnecting the piston rod from the crank.
I think you are misinformed on terminology.
I recommend you visit http://auto.howstuffworks.com/...l.htm for more information.
