Burning Coolant like CRAZY! HELP!
I have a D16y7 motor, i replaced practically everything in my motor. I believe i have a head gasket leak but let me tell you what i have replaced. I've replaced t-stat, spark plugs, head gasket, rad, rad cap, IACV, dizzy cap and rotor. My temp fluctuates, goes from Hot to warm, warm to hot, i have a milky type substance when i look under the head oil cap, but when i look in the dipstick its not milky, no signs of oil and coolant mixture in my resevoir. And occassionally i see white smoke from the exhaust. I remember following the head bolt tightening and torque secquences on the Chilton Honda manual. I just hope my head or block isnt warped. My car has overheated a couple times. But now my car sometimes does not start at times, usually have to wait until it cools before i can start it up again. and my idle goes from 4grand then drops to 0. and the car shuts down. Tips please..
Milky substance under the cap and fluctuating temps sounds like blown HG to me. Did you reuse stock head bolts? Check them to make sure they were not stretched?
What about checking the surface of the block/head with a feeler gauge/machinists ruler to see if there was any warping when you had it apart?

It could be your intake manifold gasket. The coolant passes through the manifold into the block on cylinder 4. If the gaskets seal has been broken, it will allow coolant to escape and be burnt in the cylinder. The only other thing I can think of is your head gasket. Try taking it apart, cleaning it... getting a new gasket and reinstalling it. Hope this helps.
Note: When using the tighting sequence... the objective really is to just get an even seal.

Yeah, the torque lbs isn't nearly as important as the sequence they're torqued in. Half the good mechs around here that aren't doing 600whp builds don't even use torque wrenches and their motors never blow up, just consistency, basically, I mean don't get me wrong, 300lbs from an impact gun on a headbolt is too much - but consistancy is where it's at...consistency in pressure and the right order. All about knowing your tools I suppose.
