Default 1.5 to a 1.5 vtech

Ok i have a 1990 honda civic cx with a 1.5 l motor on it that i just blew now i am getting a 1.5 vtech and i was wondering if some one can tell me what wirering i have to do and if any tips and will a 1.6l computer work or do i have to get a specal computer for that motor thank i need all the help i can get.

your car has a DPFI engine and the VTEC engine is MPFI - first, you would need to convert your car to MPFI by using the engine harness that came in it and doing the wiring changes to it - next, the VTEC engine is OBD1 and your car is OBD0 - you will need an OBD1 ECU and you will need to buy a OBD0 to OBD1 ECU jumper harness in order to plug your chassis harness into the ECU - you will need to extend the wires for the cooling fan switch which is on the back of the block and install a different connector in order to plug into the cooling fan switch located on the thermostat housing on the VTEC engine - you will need to extend the MAP sensor connector (MAP is on the firewall on your car) and plug it into the MAP on top of the throttle body on the VTEC engine

the thermostat is already onthe back of the motor i believe its the same block but different head i am not to sure but the are both 1.5 l just the one i blew isn't vtech but what about the fuel inj cause the motor i have now only has two and the new one i think it has 4

the number of injectors is why jlicrx told you about the dpfi to mpfi swap.

dpfi= 2 inj
mpfi= 4

Read in the FAQ at the top of the page...it will explain all about that swap in detail......
