Default What is the MOST PSI i can push and what do i need.

Who has a lude the is FI and what is the most your are boosting!
My lude is now my strict Race Car. so i am looking to try to make it as fast as possible. i would love to have a 9 sec lude. and if there is anyone here that can run that well let me know. i would like to see your setup.

Actually i would love to have a 11-12 second prelude.

Lower your compression, don't think you'll ready to run 17psi on your stock block with no supporting mods or internals. Whats the project budget cause boosting a lude to higher levels can get expensive real quick. Just a suggestion try the red search button at the top and look around at the builds others have done first.

Well if you wanna run over 8 psi safely, your gonna need new Rods, Low compression Pistons and aftermarket sleeves (Benson, Dart, ETC.) And a good tuning device (Hondata, Chrome, AEM)

cows dont do 9 seconds... i'm not knowledgable w/ FI at all and even I know the amount of boost possible is reliant on the tune and the size of the turbo. simply by the orig post, i want to ask you this.

What controls the PSI of the turbo?
(even tho im noob, I know the answer from hours of reading cuz u know its fundamental and stuff )

so amount of boost u can push is probably 1-100
the stuff you need: a civic hatch

9 seconds? must be outside yo mind.

you would need to dump over 7 grand to do that. easy. probably more.

turbo'ing a h22 is not easy at all. nor cheap.

I've said this ALOT lately. It's not the psi you are running, but what size turbocharger you are running to set it to "x number of psi."
Set a hp goal, and work for that.

234,423 psi. Anything more than that and you need new pistons.

Default Re: all

HaHa sorry i did not tell you that i researched alot on this but the only lude that i have herd of that runs that 9-10 sec is this on
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/466209/1

but my budget right now is about 5-6k

I know for sure that i am going to get the motor sleeved.
and i know i want to get the lower compres. pistons. and fordged rods.
and for al of you that say the PSI does not matter. well it really does.
ie. what would be the point of doing a complete motor build up sleeves pistons rods everything. and only boosting 9 PSI.
As for my HP goal i would like to be at 600whp.
and sorry to be redudant about asking this question but what i was really trying to find out was if there is anyone that currently boost 22PSI or more? and as for my turbo i was looking at a GTK turbo..
and here is the question i have not really herd much about. how much HP will the factory clutch handle? because if it can handle it i will use it till the clutch burns out. then goto to a higher end clutch.

Also had anyone found and/or are using a light weight fly wheel? because if i can find a good one then i will just do the clutch and the flywheel all at the same time. it makes sence that way...

Also has anyone used one of these newer age half sized racing radiators? because if the work good then great i will get one of those that way i dont have to worry much about the fans and how far out the turbo sits.

And also is it possible to wire a Hondata s300 up to a OBDII ECU? i have not herd of it but just a thought.

And thank you all for reading this and replying to it. sorry i was not very detailed in the first post..

And if anyone has a 22 or higher PSI Boosted Lude can you show me pics and tell me what you ended up putting in?

Also last thing Fuel Injectors. what is the best for this? 700cc? or should i go higher. or would i be safe with 550cc.

i know most higher boosted cars i have herd run 1600cc.. thats crazy. but i would do it if works better. i know to much fuel if a bad thing.

and then once its sleeved can you run nitro blue?

Ok thanks

Corey

No one is going to explain all of this to you because there is a turbo thread already full of this information. Not to mention and entire FI forum here on honda-tech....check it out.

haha i promis i am not being lazy. i just want to see a prelude that has the config that i am going to be doing and see the problems that they had if any. no spoon feeding is needed.

i have read alot of the fourms that relate to FI and everything. but idealy what i am looking for is someone with the exp. and the proof of what is done. i have talked to alot of people that give all kinda of parts and "knowlage" and find out they have never done it themselves. but thanks anyways. does anyone know how to get intouch with the boys a oakracing?

Oh yes, psi does matter...
10 psi out of a small turbo, say a T25 is ALOT less than 10 psi coming from a T51R SPL (HKS's biggest turbocharger, that I'm aware of atleast.)
However you are going to need to do MORE research.
Here's a link to the Garrett website, read through 101, 102, and 103 along with all of their other information. After you thoroughly understand that you should not be asking questions, if you are then you STILL have not read enough.

honestly, if you read that, you are basically wanting someone to advise you on everything. the questions you posted are general questions lots of ppl ask in this forum. also when you want to mod to "your level", you should be using good parts / good tuning / etc.

HAHA... This is the best post ever...

Yes, please run a stock clutch... Also, 6k wont budget you a turbo setup of any kind to make 600hp... Hell, it might get you a good base motor....

BTW... Im playing in your ppppppppooooooowwwweerr range....

I"m running a boosted, fully built block and head, port polish, 9.5:1 forged pistons, golden eagle sleeves, 1000cc injectors, ARP headstuds, AEM cam gears, JDM Type S camshafts, complete valve job Hondata S200b fuel management, Golden Eagle High Flow fuel rail, regulator, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, 60-1 turbo, Greddy electronic boost control, limited slip diff, precision 600 hp intercooler, tial wg and bov, 2.5 in IC piping, 3" all the way back, custom fabbed ramhorm mani. Looking to put down around 500-600 at the wheels. 400 easy on pump gas. Piece of cake, best v8 killer I'll ever own. If someone thinks they can beat that, haha, be prepared to spend the $$$....h22 boosting is sick expensive. I'm already way over budget. My 10,000 car is now a 30,000 investment after turbo, blow ups, and re-turbo/ upgrading. Looking to run C16 or E-85.
