Headlights randomly go out
Tried searching fer it because theres bound to be a thread about it .. but I couldn't find it . Major problem for me since I drive a lot at night.. anywayz my headlights will randomly go out, and it usually take a couple flips of the switch, off/on/off/on and they come back on, and will work fine for days. The other night however, they went out and wouldn't come back on, so I pulled over and sat for about 5 minutes flicking the switch back and forth and finally they came on again. Also, when the headlights stop working, the high beams and parking lights also don't come on. Is it the switch itself? .. or fuses orrr something else? any help is greatly appreciated thank u!!!

Well for something like this start cheap like checking fuses and connections and work your way up, assuming that it isn't a fuse problem then IMO it sounds like the relay for your headlights is bad which would explain needing to flip them on/off so much just to get them to work.

I had this problem when I bought my 4th gen and it would scare the **** out of me when going through the country roads at night and it in fact was the headlight relay but also check some of the main grounding positions as that might interfere with them too

this is my exact problem! this has happened to me even on the highway. i've meant to post it for awhile so im glad you posted this!
is it difficult for you to turn on the headlights when your stereo is on? i have had to turn off the stereo in order to turn on my headlights occassionally. the headlights will also sometimes suddenly go out when my car hits a rut/bump in the road.
please update us on what you find out.

arent your headlights on some type of breaker type device, that will reset itself when the temp of the ciruit drops below a predetermined point ?
