Phillips HID kit (4000k?) Difference in fitment for 97, 98 and 00 itr?
If I buy a used kit, what bulbs should I make sure I'm getting?
Also, is there a difference in the fitment or in which kit to get for the itr (depending on the year)?

same kit for each year and make sure you get D2S bulbs that are modd'd for a 9006 type socket.
actually I havn't posted on most of the HID threads since everyone here seems to have learned more about them and give good advice. Saves me the time. However since it was black R's thread I felt I should post on it for him.

R boosted if you are know alot about HID's can I ask a ?........How would a Phillips style HID conversion kit look in a 92-95 Civic (H4 blub).
I have been looking @ getting this because I hate blue lights and the stock lights to me don't put out as much light!!!?!!!!!

they would be good for that car. Just make sure you get the D2R bulbs with H4 sockets on them. Since you don't have projector type headlights you need the D2R bulbs.
The light output will be a lot better then stock and TONS better then blue bulbs.

The K means Kevlin which is color temp and basically just determines the color that the bulb puts out. HIDs are WAY better than the PIAAs and they last very very long.
I know HID are way better then PIAA and I know wut the K is.. I'm just saying 4000K is way low for HID.. shoudl be about 1000 higher.. unless it's the first gen HID.. which was liek 4000
acutally most all factory HID bulbs are rated at 4100-4300k. If I halogen light (PIAA, etc...) is rated at 4000-5000+k that just means its color is what much more on the blue spectrum (4000+k) or on the yellow spectrum (4000-k).
Even if a halogen light has a high k or a k rating equal to that of a HID blub, the HID bulb will always be brighter because HID's when with high k rating carry a strong l rating (lumens). Lumens is brightness. HID's with there design of arching a strong current through sodium crystal allows them to have a high color rating (k) and also have a strong (bright) l rating (lumens).
Most all halogen bulbs with high k rating have extreamly poor lumen because the brightness is killed by the colored gas. Even the bulbs that have Xenon in then still have a poor lumens rating when they are died colors to get a high k rating.

if you buy the kit with them for say an extra $200 sure it might be worth it. But to get the kit, then buy extra 6k blubs, forget it.
hmmmm... maybe i should get d2s 9006 6000k bulbs to fix my problem? Will they fit? I mean, the ballasts are for d2s/d2r, so all I need to do is get some d2s bulbs? I can go 4300k or 6000k right?
