Last Thursday, we tuned my boys rhd civic eg. The motor is a "stock block" b16a turbo that I built.

On the wastegate spring(7 psi) it made 292whp/174tq. With the boost controller installed, at 15psi it made 407whp/256tq. This was done with 50/50 mix of pump/race fuel.

We met our goal of 400+ with the stock bottom end, and are very pleased with the car. It pulls hella hard on the street at both power levels!

the car is run on the street at 7psi. higher boost is only used for for track duty(unless needed on street otherwise )

what made you go with the .82 over the .63? do you plan on building the motor and running more boost?

yes, the turbo was initially chosen for a larger motor that will be built in a few months. we just wanted to see what we could do with the b16a for now.

it will make more hp per psi so running the biggest hot side you can get away with IS ALWAYS good.

if run on 100% race fuel all the time it will hold more than what most people here think.

thanks! he drives the car on the street for the most part out of boost. as long as its under 5k rpm its all good.

true...In way thats an advantage of having a big turbo

 

good numbers. i made similar numbers on a stock ls block on straight c16. i think im gonna try mixing pump and c16 next time.

i asked because personally i would run a .63 on a b16. im not sure i agree 100% with your statement though. i was under the impression that the .63 was good for lower boost / less displacement (b16), the .82 was good for moderate boost / more displacement (b18, b20), and the 1.06 was good for higher boost / most displacement (b20, h22). take anything i say with a grain of salt though...this is just my opinion / limited knowledge.

I'm thinking about running OEM headgasket and trying to get away with 14-15 psi on a T3/T4. Should be good.
