Tell the insurance company what you have done to the car and they will promptly screw you.

statefarm told me that if I have a recent apprasel, it will probably be okay. But the whole "probably" thing scares me.

what do people do who pour tons of money into their cars?
Is keeping receipts enough?

actually i would say no, statefarm only pays 50% on the dollar for mods.

get it appraised if they said its okay.

just let me know the outcome!

Progressive will setup a seperate policy for your parts and yes hold to your receipts. Otherwise (W/progressive) they will only cover up 1000 dollars, not sure about other companies.

actually I have Progressive, they allow me to cover an additional $3000 in mods/wheels/etc on my GSR as long as I ask for that coverage and pay for it. And of course I do, I would be poissed if my car got jacked and that stuff wasnt covered (but could have been). I think it is another $100 a year for me to add the $3000 add'l coverage.
