i just traded my hxs for these, and was told they were optional canadian rims.
could anyone confirm this?

They're not just Canadian. They were optional wheels for 96-00 Civics. They're just another one of the dealer optional wheels.

Most people I know call them three-splits. They're available in Europe, South America, USA, Canada, etc.

Well, I mostly see them on European Civics.
