Motor Questions
So i searched and looked at the motor list and everything but im confused. Im getting a free D16Y7 and the list said it was non-vtec but im 100% positive it has a vtec head on it. the kid never changed the head or anything. Did anything ever come like that? And also has anyon used a D15B8 for a mini me?

Then its been head-swapped obviously, most likely a Y8 head since it is an OBD2 motor.

ASK HIM FOR A PICTURE OF THE BLOCK CODE.
If it's a Y8 then it'll have a VTEC solenoid, if it's a Y7 w/ a Y8 head it will have a VTEC solenoid. If it's a Y7 it will NOT have a VTEC solenoid.
If it's a Y7 and it's VTEC, HE SWAPPED THE HEAD.
Jeez, I've never seen so many complications over a simple concept in my entire life.

He told you wrong
y7 is the 1.6liter, nonvtec 96-00 OBD2 , with that downdraft manifold that everyone just loves.
The y8 is the 96-00 1.6 liter VTEC motor that is OBD2.
